Hi, I’m Rose Favell, I am a fully qualified hypnotherapist and I am a HypnoBirthing practitioner. HypnoBirthing the Original Mongan method has been spreading across the world ever since it began in 1989 and is now taught in many NHS Trust hospitals in the UK. I love helping women to have a beautiful birth with great memories. If you are planning to have your baby in Gibraltar or Spain you will be very happy that you found this page. Whatever kind of birth you’re planning – HypnoBirthing can help. Rumour has it that Kate Middleton Duchess of Cambridge is also planning a HypnoBirth!
What is HypnoBirthing™?
HypnoBirthing is your key to a comfortable, wonderful birth. It is a completely logical and well established method which allows your mind to work in harmony with your body the way nature intended. It is a full prenatal course which gives you the tools and confidence to prepare for a calm, comfortable birth of your baby. Practice and preparation puts you in charge, allowing your baby to be born calm and alert, able to bond with you quickly and to settle in to healthy sleeping and feeding patterns.
“When a woman is properly prepared for birthing, physically, mentally and spiritually, she can birth her baby in an easy, comfortable and often pain-free manner.”
Marie Mongan – HypnoBirthing Founder
HypnoBirthing is based on the belief that a woman’s body is perfectly designed to give birth without experiencing pain. When a woman is properly prepared for childbirth and when mind and body are in harmony, nature is free to function in the same well-designed manner that it does with all other creatures. After all, why should a woman’s uterus not function just as comfortably as other muscles in the body? The reason is FEAR. In the west a fear of childbirth has developed over centuries, not due to the actual physical aspect of birth but due to the fear of what may possibly go wrong during and after childbirth. When we are fearful, we are also tense and when we are tense we experience pain.
Through a well thought out program couples learn how to use simple hypnosis, deep relaxation, visualisation and breathing techniques to eliminate the fear and therefore the tension that causes pain during childbirth.
Why Is HypnoBirthing So Good?
- Eliminates the fear often associated with childbirth and therefore the pain.
- Greatly reduces and often eliminates the need for epidurals, caesareans and episiotomies.
- HypnoBirthing babies are more healthy, calmer and sleep and feed better.
- Brings the mother, baby and the birthing companion together in a wonderful bonding experience, before, during and after your birth.
- Shortens labour by several hours
- Mothers learn to tune into their natural birthing instincts, trust and work with their bodies and to release all prior programming about birth.
- Teaches gentle birthing techniques that allow the mother to breathe her baby into the world instead of forceful pushing.
- Gives fathers a wonderful, integral role in the birth.
- Reduces or eliminates postnatal depression.
